The dark sky glowed orange outside St George's Hall last night as film crews shot what appeared to be an explosion. The scene saw fire and smoke erupt into the sky, with 'panicked' extras seen frantically fleeing an old-fashioned bus. It has been rumoured the filming is for the new Peaky Blinders movie, and while this has not been confirmed there were a number of flat caps on set last night, which may prove a huge hint as to what the production is.

St George's Hall has become a popular filming destination for a range of films in recent years , including The Batman and the upcoming Fountain of Youth film , directed by Guy Ritchie. Liverpool is now the UK’s second most-filmed city behind London. It has become a regular sight to see film crews filming the next big movie or TV programme on the city's streets.
