Summary The 18 routes are operated by American Eagle, Frontier, Southwest, Spirit, Starlux, and Sun Country. 14 routes are brand-new for the specific airline. The remaining four links, all domestic, have been served by the carrier before, sometimes years ago.

August is an unusual time to begin new routes. It is too late to capture most peak summer demand, with services reliant on autumn and winter traffic. Nonetheless, the US welcomed 18 additional routes in August 2024.

In comparison, OAG data analysis shows that 30+ started in July, 108+ in June, and 117+ in May. One new long-haul route On August 17, Taiwanese carrier Starlux inaugurated flights to its third North American airport: Seattle. It made history by becoming the fourth – yes, the fourth – non-stop carrier between Taipei and the Washington State airport.

It runs three times weekly on the 306-seat A350-900 and codeshares with Alaska Airlines, an important competitive advantage that will help boost traffic and loads. The service is operated by an Airbus A350-900. Starlux joins Delta (which started non-stop flights in June 2024; it operated via Tokyo Narita until 2017), China Airlines (which resumed Seattle passenger service in July 2024), and long-standing carrier EVA Air.

Which operator will blink first? Want tickets? Get them here! 12 new domestic links (+ resumptions) Unsurprisingly, most are by ultra-low-cost carriers Frontier and Spirit. They include Frontier's first transcon service from New York JFK, an airport that joined its network in June 2024. The ULCCs have also started four intrastate routes within California and Texas, with Frontier becoming the fifth carrier between Los Angeles International and San José.

American Eagle ceased serving the airport pair in April 2024. Unless stated otherwise, all the airlines have head-to-head competition. While some publications mentioned that Spirit began Baltimore-Charlotte on August 14, Flightradar24 suggests that it did not start and that only one roundtrip service is planned (on August 26).

As such, it is not included. Click here to fly! The 817 nautical mile (1,514 km) route operates on Saturdays only, with the last departure on November 2.

Just 13 roundtrip services are planned, all on the two-class, 74-seat CRJ900 operated by PSA Airlines for American Eagle . Québec City is American Eagle's joint-longest CRJ900 route from Charlotte..
