It was the “Jazz Age.” The 1920s was a decade full of prosperity, vibrant music, and fashion. Now Parkland residents can step back into the Roaring 20s on Saturday for a special celebration.
The Oct. 19 event takes place from 7-10 p.m.
at Long Memorial Hall in Farmington. The event celebrates Long Hall’s 100-year anniversary. Admission for Saturday’s event is $50 per person.

They will enjoy delicious appetizers and may purchase drinks from a cash-only bar (no credit cards). Live music will be played by the Arcadia Dance Orchestra, a 1920s-style jazz band. Students from Farmington’s Ballet Arts Center will entertain the crowd with several dances.
Farmington Mayor Larry Forsythe invites the community to attend this special 1920s-themed celebration. “I would like everyone to come out and enjoy this celebration,” he said. “In addition to the 1920s event, we have many festivities planned this month to honor Long Memorial Hall’s 100-year anniversary.
” Long Memorial Hall is located at 110 West Columbia Street in Farmington. SIDEBAR STORY The Arcadia Dance Orchestra is a St. Louis-based group established by multi-instrumentalist and vocalist T.
J. Muller. The 11-piece band was founded in 2017 by Muller.
The group consists of local musicians who authentically perform St. Louis jazz from the 1920s. The band members are skilled in playing era-appropriate.
