A former EastEnders star has shared how much past stars get paid when repeat episodes are show. Michael Greco took on the role of Beppe di Marco in the BBC soap, which he played for four years between 1998 and 2002. Speaking to Gavin and Stacey's Scott McGlynn, on the 5th series of Celebrity Skin Talk Show , Michael shared that he would not be returning to the BBC soap for the much anticipated 40th anniversary.
He said: "I didn’t get the call, I wasn’t asked to go back at all. "I’m not on their radar so, I think if wasn’t asked back to help with their 40th I don’t think I never go back." He added: "If they want you back they get you back.
I used to be in the vice squad maybe that be my way to join back in, and arrest someone you know." Despite not being on the show for some years, Michael shared that he does still earn money from his time there when classic re-runs are shown. The actor admitted: "Yeah I know about the re-runs.
I get a £1.27 repeat fees every six months from episodes." As the soap has hit its landmark anniversary, a host of iconic characters have made brief comebacks, including Laurie Brett as Jane Beale, Michael French as David Wicks, Tracy-Ann Oberman as Chrissie Watts, Paul Nicholls as Joe Wicks, Joe Swash as Mickey Miller, and Louisa Lytton as Ruby Allen.
Maddy Hill and Danny Hatchard returned to their roles as Nancy and Lee Carter in December for a special episode centred around Linda Carter's (Kellie Bright) battle with alcoholism. In a surpri.
