Creators and developers Phoebe Fisher and Sara Goodman are gearing up for the American series Cruel Intentions . It is based on the 1999 film by Roger Kumble, which itself was based on Pierre Choderlos de Laclos’ 1782 novel Les Liaisons Dangereuses. In an exclusive interview with Firstpost, the two ladies sat down and spoke about the series they have come up with and lots more.
Edited excerpts from the interview Sarah, where was the inspiration from? How much of cinematic liberty was taken? I think it was a play and then a couple of different movies. When Phoebe and I decided to do it as a television show, I think we really wanted to give it a whole new cinematic scope, in this world of privilege and, Greek life on a campus. So we we that was one of the most fun parts was to create this world in a visual way.
Down the descent, a world of privilege, which is very common in today’s world, and it is the most important thing. So, why’d you can you relate in some ways to these characters and that that’s been played over here? Phoebe: I think the hope is that everyone can relate to them in some ways and then, you know, in other ways, hopefully, they can’t relate to them because they’re nicer people than they are. (Laughs).
Sara: I would think we all want to be in that world. I mean, isn’t that what the world of exclusive and and privilege is is we all want to be part of it. But once you’re in, I’m not sure it’s that much fun.
Phoebe: Help us. And, can you enligh.
