Now in its ninth edition with success stories training both the present and past editions, the event saw several schools competed on the critical thinking chess board for days before the curtain fell on the competition with Kehinde Adejobi of Ajayi Crowther Memorial Senior Grammar School emerging the overall winner. Speaking on the journey so far and the impact of the competition in the past nine years, the CEO of Media Vision, Mr.

Fela Bank-Olemoh, said the company is pleased to come up with this initiative, saying the intention has always been to unearth talents which the PWC Chess4Change Grand Slam has been able to do in the past years. He said; “I want to say I am pleased with how far this event has gone. I am always excited with every opportunity to impact the students.

“You know talents are everywhere but discovering them is the challenge. I love the opportunity this competition has afforded the students to compete because it gives them confidence and strong thinking to go forward; so we are excited. “It has been impacting on their performances and in every year, it makes them better.

Next year will be the tenth edition and this is one of the longest corporate sponsorship for an event in Nigeria and we are happy the extent we have taking .
