He added: "At Wizz Air, we're passionate about helping travellers discover these lesser-known treasures, from secluded coves in Croatia to sandy stretches in Albania, away from the crowds.

" Nissi Beach in Ayia Napa, Cyprus, tops the list as the best spot for some last-minute sunshine before autumn sets in. Despite being one of the most popular beaches in Cyprus, its 600-metre stretch ensures there's plenty of room for everyone. For those who enjoy a bit of buzz, Nissi Beach is a great choice for an impromptu autumn break, with temperatures remaining comfortably warm at around 21 degrees and an average of nine hours of sunshine throughout September, October, and November.

Coming in second is Konyaalt Plajlar in Antalya, Turkey. This lesser-known treasure offers a serene getaway from the hustle and bustle of typical tourist traps, boasting enough space for nine beach towels per person. With its backdrop of mountains and crystal-clear Mediterranean waters, it's the perfect peaceful retreat.

Konyaalt Plajlar also boasts pleasant weather in the autumn, averaging 20C and nine hours of sunshine, making it an excellent choice for a last-minute summer escape without the crowds. Borsh Beach in Albania, known for its warm autumn weather, has been ranked third.
