Two Bay of Plenty women have joined forces to raise money so their best friend’s teenager can to travel to the US for experimental cancer treatment that could save his life. Brennan Miller was a healthy 15-year-old when he was diagnosed with Ewing’s sarcoma, a rare and aggressive type of bone cancer, in November 2020. He underwent surgery and 14 rounds of chemotherapy but after being in remission for a year, he relapsed.

“There have been very scary times,” admits his mum, Michelle Miller. “But Brennan just blows us away with his positive mindset. He’s just so determined to live and he never complains, even when he’s in pain.

He’s been through so much and he deserves so much more.”.
