It’s been an eventful summer for Disney , and not under ideal circumstances. After his wife’s death because of food allergies at a Disney park, a man struggled to pursue legal action against the company due to his Disney+ subscription (they will now go to court, but yikes). Then, “X-Men: 97” showrunner Beau DeMayo shared a series of posts elaborating on his termination, and his attorneys told IndieWire that he’s preparing to sue.

The headlines have people considering whether to keep subscribing this month — but if you’re a parent , there’s no real replacement. The kids can tune in to “LEGO Pixar: Bricktoons,” “Chibi Tiny Tales,” “Disney Jr.’s Ariel,” and more, as well as new episodes of the K-pop series “Are You Sure?” There’s also a big Marvel premiere, but more on that below.

Hulu (bundled or separate, but owned by Disney) gets a ton of new movies including the “Die Hard” franchise, “Freaky Friday” (which has a sequel in the works), and Jordan Peele’s “Us” (maybe watch that one without the kids). It’s also the destination of the 76th Annual Emmy Awards next-day streaming and new and returning originals. Top Pick: “Agatha All Along” (Disney+) In case you forgot how good Kathryn Hahn was in “WandaVision” — they made her a dang spinoff.

Hahn’s Agatha Harkness is back in the series helmed by “WandaVision”s Jac Schaeffer. When a mysterious teen (Joe Locke) breaks Agatha out of Wanda’s (Elizabeth Olsen) spell, she ends up on a journey that involves gathering a new coven and teaming up with the likes of Jennifer (Sasheer Zamata), Rio (Aubrey Plaza), and more colorful characters (Patti LuPone!) while jumping through genres just like “WandaVision.” Schaeffer, Rachel Goldberg, and Gandja Monteiro direct the eight-episode series, premiering September 18.
