Premier League football is back and Everton kick off their 2024/25 campaign against Brighton & Hove Albion. The match is the first at Goodison Park in what will be an emotional final season at the Old Lady, with the Toffees set to complete their move to a brilliant new stadium at Bramley-Moore Dock next summer. Sean Dyche will hope for a more stable campaign than last time out, when Everton flirted with relegation and suffered two points deductions before a fine run of form at the end of the season saw them pull clear of the drop zone and finish in a respectable position.

Indeed, if not for the points deductions, Everton would have finished level on points with Brighton. The Seagulls are under new management after the departure of Roberto De Zerbi, with 31-year-old Fabian Hurzeler now in charge. Dyche is without a number of players for the game including Jarrad Branthwaite, James Garner, Seamus Coleman, Nathan Patterson and Youssef Chermiti.
