Zendaya is excited for her Euphoria character, Rue, to finally move beyond high school in the upcoming third season. The Emmy Award winner, who has portrayed Rue since the show’s debut, recently hinted at what fans can expect from the highly anticipated new season. In a recent interview, she confirmed that the next instalment will include a time jump, with the characters moving into life after high school.
“It’s important because there’s only so much high school drama you can deal with,” Zendaya remarked, adding humourously, “And then she cheats on her boyfriend again!” Though the actress and executive producer couldn’t share too many specifics about the upcoming season’s plot, she assured listeners that it’s going to be “fascinating,” during Entertainment Weekly’s The Awards podcast interview. “I don’t actually know much about what is happening. I don’t quite know exactly what the season is going to look like, but I do know that the time jump is happening,” she said.
