Tipperary on Saturday, which cost in the region of €1.

5m. The MMA superstar was proud as punch as he watched his big sister get married to her partner Terry Kavanagh at an open-air ceremony in the grounds of the five-star Cashel Palace Hotel on Saturday afternoon. McGregor had earlier flown directly into the grounds of the exclusive hotel via helicopter, with the rest of the couple’s guests availing of the complex’s private car park as they made their way to the wedding.

Security was extra tight at the posh resort, with staff having their phones and smart watches confiscated and given wristbands to identify them in an attempt to keep photographs of the event private. Erin (42) has told friends she has negotiated a ‘megabucks’ deal with an American magazine for what she thought were exclusive pictorial rights to the event. The Dancing With the Stars and panto figure and her bridal party booked into the hotel on Friday, with room rates ranging from €400 to €1,200 per night.

The bride-to-be also made every last effort to look her best by topping up her tan on Friday afternoon at the town’s Sunshine and Sunbed Beauty salon, where sessions cost from €50 to €100. No expense was spared ahead of the big day, with the generous couple providing a free bar for their invited guests. Usual prices in the hotel are €7.10 for a pint of Guinness, €7.

72 for a Heineken, while the cheapest glass of white wine costs €13.20. Erin’s mum Margaret got into the spirit of the weekend by donning a white dress on Friday evening as she held court in the hotel, which is owned by billionaire businessman John Magnier.

The magnificent Rock of Cashel overlooks the hotel and the town, where the Kings of Munster reigned from the fifth century. The ruined monastery was built in the 12th century. Erin walked down the aisle yesterday afternoon, with many male guests wearing black tie in the cloudy-but-dry conditions. After the ceremony the guests retired to an annexe. Guests gathered outside last night and cheered as a spectacular fireworks display lit up the sky.

Several fans gathered outside the hotel hoping to catch a glimpse of VIP guests, with a van bearing the name of McGregor’s Forged stout parked nearby, giving a clue as to the star attendee inside. The dress was estimated to have cost at least €100,000.

She recently hosted a second hen party for close friends and family in the pub brother Conor owns, The Black Forge in Dublin’s Crumlin, where guests dressed in white. Erin danced the night away after cutting a huge cake and was presented with a floral bouquet. Earlier this summer, she flew a group of pals to her first white-themed hen party in Saint Tropez in the south of France.

Terry, who sings at funerals, weddings and does pub gigs, had his stag party in Puerto Rico, in Gran Canaria, in May. He also performs as Master of Ceremonies at MMA and boxing events, but recently announced that he is ‘retiring’ from that type of work. Conor and Erin also have a sister, Aoife, who is currently dating Graham ‘The Wig’ Whelan, who has links to the Kinahan cartel.

The hotel has become a draw for celebrities in recent years. Irish rugby star Robbie Henshaw married his wife Sophie Marren there in March.

Former Munster player JJ Hanrahan also chose the hotel for his wedding reception with Fabienne Green in 2022. Other weddings there have included those of influencer Niamh de Brun’s sister Brid, and Jessica O’Mahony’s (wife of rugby ace Peter) step-sister Aoife. Roz Purcell celebrated her engagement to Zach Desmond at the hotel too.

The hotel is owned by billionaire Coolmore stud owner Magnier and his wife Susan, and reopened in 2022 after undergoing huge renovations for seven years. Conor McGregor himself has still to fix a date for his wedding to Dee Devlin, to whom he got engaged in 2020 after 12 years together.

The couple have four children, Conor Jnr (seven), Croia (five), Rían (three), and Mack (one). Join the Irish Independent WhatsApp channel Stay up to date with all the latest news.
