Erik Menendez has called out Ryan Murphy and his new series The new limited series is on and it is the second installment of Ryan's Monsters anthology with Ian Brennan. The Monsters anthology started with Jeffrey Dahmer last year. Monsters: The Lyle and Erik Menendez Story came out Thursday, September 19, on the streaming service.

There was controversy about the show before it even came out with people criticizing the , as well as worrying about the . Now, Erik has spoken out about the Netflix series. The 53-year-old shared a statement on his brother blasting the show and its depictions of the two brothers.



He slammed Ryan for the portrayal, calling it lies and saying it discredits their childhood trauma. Erik and Lyle, 56, claimed they were physically, emotionally and sexually abused by their parents and murdered them as a result. “I believed we had moved beyond the lies and ruinous character portrayals of Lyle, creating a caricature of Lyle rooted in horrible and blatant lies rampant in the show," Erik started in his screenshot statement.

"I can only believe they were done so on purpose. It is with a heavy heart that I say, I believe Ryan Murphy cannot be this naive and inaccurate about the facts of our lives so as to do this without bad intent.” Erik went on to say "those awful lies" by Ryan "have been disrupted and exposed by countless brave victims over the last two decades who have broken through their personal shame and bravely spoken out.

" He accused the 58-year-old TV producer of shaping "his horrible narrative through vile and appalling character portrayals of Lyle and me and disheartening slander."
