Eric Stonestreet made a sandwich on Instagram over the weekend that he promised his 2.6 million followers would be “the best sandwich you’ll ever eat.” Think bologna and cheese, but upscale.

“Hello everyone. I’m going to share with you ,” the former “Modern Family” star, , said in a video filmed in someone’s — his? — kitchen. He showed a paper plate holding two slices of bread.

“Focaccia or ciabatta,” he said. Next came, “the best cheese in the world” as he held up a package of stracchino. He struggled pronouncing it, noting “I’m not Italian.

I don’t know for sure but I can count on you to correct me. It is the best cheese.” He spread two chunks of the creamy, butter-like cheese on one slice of bread.

“Beautiful. Wonderful,” he said. “Then take the best lunch meat known to mankind, mortadella, and lay it on like little ribbons or pillows of meat goodness.

” He laid five, no six, slices of the sausage on the cheese-covered bread. Then he slathered more cheese on the other slice of bread, sprinkled it with extra virgin olive oil, added a pinch of salt and a tiny bit of calabrian chili oil for those who “like it spicy.” He smashed the two pieces of bread together.

“There it is. The best sandwich you’ll ever eat in your life and I’m not even kidding.” He put the sandwich in his mouth and took a crunchy bite before asking the person filming if there was anything on his face.

“Cut,” he said, and the video ended. He made the video because apparently he hasn’t been able to find the stracchino cheese in many Kansas City area grocery stores. The first comment on his post came from a fan who wrote: “I’m headed to the store RIGHT NOW.

” But Stonestreet replied: “You WONT find the cheese! Help spread the word!” “I must have it. I will report back,” the follower proclaimed. He told followers he had to special order the cheese, sold by BelGioioso, a based in Green Bay, Wisconsin.

It’s made in small batches from whole cow’s milk “ ,” says the company’s website. “Made in petite 3.5-pound wheels, this fresh rindless cheese offers a milky flavor and tender texture.

” When it ages, it “develops an addictive pleasant tanginess and creamy softness.” The website also teaches customers how to pronounce it. Say it “struh-kEE-no.

” indicating the cheese is available in a handful of local stores, most in Johnson County, which isn’t exactly in Stonestreet’s neck of the metro. Some fans suggested tweaking the fixings, but Stonestreet wasn’t having any of it. “Where’s the salami???” “In the fridge.

” “Some fresh tomato?” “No.” “Only thing missing is the banana pepper.” “No.

” “I think it’s a little less mortadella.” “You have no idea what you’re talking about. So just stop.

” “Try with some oregano next time.” “Why? To ruin it?” “I’m Mediterranean. Just a pinch of oregano here and there after your olive oil.

” “Love oregano. Just not here on this sandwich.” “Is it weird that I don’t like cheese?” “Ya probs.

” “That is my favorite cheese!!!!!” “Besties.” One fan asked if he had toasted the bread. “Did you feel the earth shake when I CRUNCHED IT!” Stonestreet replied.

Stonestreet also recently , an Italian restaurant in the Northland where he has become a repeat customer..
