The six-time Brit Award-winner, 26, stunned at the festival in a chocolate brown sequinned dress.

Her dress was sleeveless and featured stylish clear panels on its sides making Raye's waist appear even smaller. Raye, who graced the stage barefoot, was accompanied by her backing vocalists who all wore white clothing. While on-stage, Raye addressed the crowd and said: 'It's always been a dream of mine to play this festival.

I've done it guys! 'I came to Reading when I was 16 and just finished my GCSEs, I was in the deep end and in the dance tent living my life. 'When I came to this festival at 16 I was like: 'One day I'm going to play here and I can't believe we're here.

' 'I've played so many s*** festivals - when I say 's***', I don't mean the brand of festival. I mean I've been ready to perform and there's two people in the crowd and I always prayed that one day someone will give a s*** and now I'm here playing Reading. 'Anything is possible: I was here at 16 with a dream and look at me now.

' Six of the songs in Raye's set were upbeat and positive but one focused on sexual assault. Before the song, Raye said: 'I promised myself when I became an independent artist that I would make honest music about things I have been through which is medicine and music can make you heal and feel better, heard and listened to. 'I am a crier and this is a sad song but I'm going to sing it, I pray you don't relate to it but if you do I hope it feels like a hug.

It's called Ice Cream Man.' There was unfortunately a medical issue in the crowd during Raye's set and she made sure to pause until it was sorted out. Taking to Instagram following her big performance, Raye shared a carousel of images from this month , including several of her amazing on stage performances and one of her hugging Taylor. Among the snaps, Raye shared a glimpse of the handwritten note penned by Taylor in which she says she a 'massive fan' of the Escapism hitmaker before thanking her for agreeing to open her show.

The message read: 'Raye, I am such a massive fan of yours and have been for years. I can't believe my luck, that you said 'yes' and are joining us for such an important night on The Eras Tour, our last night (in) Wembley! Thank you (from the) bottom of my heart.'
