Emmerdale: Tom spies on Belle via a secret camera The fate of Emmerdale ’s beloved dog Piper has been confirmed - and fans will be devastated. Fans will recall how Tom King (James Chase) has been abusing and gaslighting his wife Belle Dingle (Eden Taylor-Draper) for months. Recently though, Belle managed to break free and told Tom that their marriage is over.

However, despite them not being together, he has been trying to win her back with several grand gestures. Meanwhile Belle is none the wiser that Tom has secretly set up cameras in her home - and is watching her every move. And during Friday’s instalment (August 16) sinister Tom sank to new lows as he attacked Belle’s beloved dog piper.

In the episode, Tom cornered Belle at the Woolpack where Sam’s (James Hooton) birthday party was taking place. Standing her ground, Belle told Tom she’d prefer if he didn’t attend her family’s celebrations - leaving him fuming. He grabbed her wrists and started to threaten her.

Embarrassed, Tom quickly left - but things soon took a harrowing turn. Later on, Tom drove up to the Wishing Well Cottage and noticed innocent doggy Piper.

In a hard-to-watch scene, he then deliberately drove the car towards her. At the end of the episode, a frantic Tom was later seen rushing back to the village with Piper wrapped in a blanket pretending to be concerned for the dog he just mowed down with his car. Leaving the pub, Belle spotted Tom, who promised he'd do all he could to save Piper.

In a video, shared with Metro, from Monday’s episode (August 19), Belle and Tom can be seen returning to the village - with Belle clearly reeling from the horrific incident.

He then suggests that he moves in with Belle - but it appears she has a moment of clarity: that Tom was the one who ran down Piper. Fuming, she screams at Tom: “It was you!’ You’ve killed her!” leaving Tom startled, not having expected her to figure out his involvement in the incident. Emmerdale airs weeknights on ITV1 and ITVX at 7.
