EMMERDALE spoilers reveal child killer Ella Forster is set for a violent confrontation. The character - played by former Coronation Street actress Paula Lane - made her first appearance earlier this year . In upcoming scenes, Mandy (Lisa Riley) discovers it's Ella's 30th birthday the next day and surprises her with birthday wishes.
During her party, Ella is left frightened when Gary (Simon Naylor) arrives, interrupting their song. Gary is the nephew of June, whom Ella had been visiting at a car home in previous scenes , while Liam believed June was the mother of his love interest. However, the doctor was horrified to learn that Ella had actually unintentionally killed June's daughter Joanne, her childhood best friend, in a fit of rage.
In the upcoming scenes, a quietly aggressive Gary confronts a shaken Ella and hands her a photo of Joanne. As her life implodes - Ella, in pieces, rushes out while Gary runs after her. After she falls to the ground, Wendy (Susan Cookson) ushers Ella away from Gary as he walks away full of grief and anger.
Later, a shaken Ella is in the waiting room with a gentle Wendy, but Wendy's stunned when the child killer flips and attacks her. In earlier scenes, Ella was anxious after Mandy started preparations for her birthday, including a full beauty treatment with before and after photos. An already fraught Ella loses it later on after seeing photos of herself posted on salon's social media pages.
Meanwhile, village doctor Liam - whom Ella's experienced a turbulent romance with - sees her smash the birthday cake and head for the footbridge. A concerned Liam approaches Ella, calming her and offering to accompany her to the surprise birthday party. Ella is encouraged by the support as she arrives for her party and she does her best to try and enjoy herself while everyone rallies around her.
As she begins to relax, the party continues - and Ella's touched when Liam gives her a small star pendant as a gift. It was later revealed, in heartbreaking scenes, that Ella had experienced an anembryonic pregnancy, also known as blighted ovum or a silent miscarriage.
