Middle Eastern giant Emirates already has around 200 Australian pilots in its ranks, and next week, it is hosting a recruitment drive in three Australian capital cities to attract more. Emirates recently announced significant eligibility changes that open up more scope for aspiring pilots to fly widebody jets with the airline, including non-type-rated first officers and direct-entry captains. Opportunities to fly Airbus and Boeing widebodies Today, Emirates announced it will be hosting pilot recruitment roadshows in Sydney, Brisbane and Perth to attract experienced commercial pilots.

Emirates needs more pilots to meet surging demand , and with more than 200 Australians already flying for the airline, it sees Australia as fertile ground for recruits. However, interested pilots need to move quickly , as the first of the events will be in Perth between December 2 and 3, followed by Sydney from December 5 to 6 and Brisbane between December 8 and 9. Recruiting quality pilots is now a competitive endeavor, so Emirates recently announced significant changes to its pilot recruitment , including higher salaries, new roles, and a radical shift in the eligibility criteria.
