Tuesday, August 13, 2024 Emirates has unveiled plans to expand the reach of its newly upgraded Boeing 777 aircraft, adding Zurich and Riyadh to its itinerary from October 1, 2024. The upgraded fleet will also commence operations to Geneva and Brussels, marking these locations as the first to feature the updated B777 cabins on all routes. In a bid to enhance passenger comfort, Emirates will introduce its acclaimed Premium Economy and reimagined Business Class sections on these aircraft.
Starting October 1, 2024, Emirates’ modified Boeing 777 will serve Zurich on flights EK 85 and EK 86 and will make its inaugural flight to Riyadh with services EK 819 and EK 820, introducing the Premium Economy class to the Middle East/GCC for the first time. Geneva will pioneer the availability of Premium Economy and the refreshed Business Class on all its flights from September 22, 2024, utilizing the upgraded B777 on routes EK 89 and EK 90. Furthermore, from October 9, 2024, Emirates will extend this service to Brussels with six weekly flights on EK 181 and EK 182.
This expansion includes both the refurbished Boeing 777 and A380 models, offering passengers enhanced options and superior in-flight experiences across all cabin classes. By the year’s end, Emirates aims to include Premium Economy in 28 cities. Currently, 25 planes have been upgraded, with an additional 17 set to be retrofitted by December 2024.
The four-class configuration of the Boeing 777 includes up to eight First Class suites, 38 Business Class seats arranged four-abreast, 24 Premium Economy seats in a 2-4-2 configuration, and 256 seats in Economy Class. Travelers in Emirates’ new 777 Business Class will enjoy spacious seats that convert into 180-degree flat beds, enhanced privacy, and aisle access for each seat. The 20.

The Premium Economy seats, 19.5 inches wide and designed in cream leather, feature a 6-way adjustable headrest and provide an 8-inch recline with a 38-inch pitch for enhanced relaxation. The seating is complemented by a calf and footrest, in-seat charging facilities, and a wooden dining and cocktail table.
Premium Economy passengers will also experience superior dining, similar to Business Class standards, starting with a welcome drink, fine beverages, and gourmet meals served on exquisite tableware..
