Monday, November 25, 2024 Emirates has proudly taken delivery of its first Airbus A350, marking a significant milestone in the airline’s journey of growth and innovation. Registered as A6-EXA, this state-of-the-art aircraft is the first of 65 A350s that will join the Emirates fleet in the coming years, introducing a new aircraft type to the airline for the first time since 2008. The delivery ceremony took place earlier today in Toulouse, France, where the A350 was officially handed over to Emirates.
The aircraft is set to embark on its ferry flight to Dubai at 1600 local time, a journey aviation enthusiasts can follow live on Flight Radar 24. Upon arrival, the aircraft will undergo its final preparations at Emirates Engineering before being unveiled at a highly anticipated event later this week. This delivery also highlights Emirates’ commitment to sustainability, with the ferry flight powered by a blend of conventional jet fuel and sustainable aviation fuel (SAF).
This eco-conscious move aligns with the airline’s long-term goals to reduce its carbon footprint and contribute to a greener future. Starting in January, the A350 will enter commercial service, making its debut with a flight to Edinburgh. Following this inaugural journey, the aircraft will operate routes to eight additional destinations spanning the Middle East, West Asia, and Europe, strengthening Emirates’ network and offering travelers more options to connect across the globe.
