Emirates has pushed back the Airbus A350-900 's deployment dates to later in 2025 for its major destinations of Lyon (LYS), Bologna (BLQ), and Muscat (MCT). On these routes, fans of the airline's cutting-edge A350-900 will have to wait a little while longer to enjoy its quieter cabins, improved onboard comfort, and increased fuel economy. New A350 deployment dates set for summer 2025 AeroRoutes website confirms that the launch of the A350-900 on the Lyon route has been scheduled for June 1, 2025, with flights to Bologna following on July 1, 2025.
The A350-900 will also start operating to Muscat on July 1, 2025, according to Emirates' website . Previously, Emirates announced plans to begin daily Airbus A350 operations on the Lyon, Muscat route from March 30 and the Bologna route from March 15. Based on the aviation analytics company Cirium 's data, Lyon will see the A350-900 operate daily flights starting June 1, replacing the Boeing 777 .
The route currently offers daily flights with slightly above 10,000 seats using the Boeing 777. With the transition, the A350-900 will provide 9,672 or 9,360 seats and over 29 million available seat miles (ASMs), depending on the month. While the capacity reduces, passengers can experience modern interiors, quieter cabins, and improved fuel efficiency.
