Friday, August 16, 2024 The USTA and Emirates have renewed their transformative partnership, extending Emirates’ enduring support of the US Open Tennis Championships into its 13th consecutive year. As the Official Airline Partner of the US Open, Emirates is poised to leave a lasting impact on local communities across the United States through a new, multi-year collaboration. The renewed partnership will bring about the launch of the Emirates “Force for Good” court refurbishment initiative, targeting cities across the U.

S. This initiative will debut during the 2024 US Open at Brooklyn’s De Hostos Playground courts, where the refurbishment of three courts will be revealed on September 7. Over the course of the new multi-year agreement, this program aims to empower tens of thousands of under-resourced youth by providing them with life-changing access to tennis and education.

De Hostos Playground, home to the Kings County Tennis League, serves hundreds of youth across Brooklyn and is one of the USTA Foundation’s 250-plus National Junior Tennis & Learning (NJTL) chapters nationwide. Through the “Force for Good” initiative, Emirates will make annual donations to the USTA Foundation, partnering to resurface courts in underserved parks, schools, and community centers across American cities where Emirates operates. The funding from Emirates will not only rejuvenate these courts but also support tennis and educational programs, uplifting local youth and their families in the process.

On Emirates’ new “Force for Good” community initiative Boutros Boutros, Emirates’ Executive Vice President of Corporate Communications, Marketing and Brand said: “Emirates is delighted to be back as the Official Airline of the US Open where we share the passion for tennis and sports with our global fans. This is our 13th year of partnering with the USTA and we are especially proud to be celebrating our renewed commitment to the prestigious event by introducing a new community initiative that will touch the lives of youth in communities throughout the US. Emirates operates to 12 cities in the country and it’s rewarding to be giving back to the communities we serve.

The refurbishment of tennis courts and support of training programs is a meaningful way to inspire young tennis lovers and future stars and we are glad to be playing a role in nurturing talent amongst the youth. We look forward to the unveiling of the first three refurbished courts in Brooklyn in New York where our US operations began 20 years ago.” Emirates Elevates Presence at the US Open with Expanded Partnership and Luxurious Hospitality As part of its renewed partnership with the USTA, Emirates is enhancing its presence at the US Open with a series of exciting initiatives that go beyond the “Force for Good” program.

This year, fans can expect to see prominent brand visibility throughout the tournament, including the ever-popular post-match Emirates Ball Flight and on-site activations like Emirates Day, where fans will receive complimentary caps. The airline is also a proud sponsor of Arthur Ashe Kids’ Day, adding to its strong connection with tennis enthusiasts. Additionally, passengers onboard Emirates flights can watch live US Open matches via Live TV, ensuring they don’t miss any of the action.

A highlight of Emirates’ involvement this year is the unveiling of its revamped hospitality suite at the Arthur Ashe Stadium. This luxurious 1,358-square-foot suite, one of the largest at the two-week event, has been given a refreshed look, offering premium dining experiences and exclusive beverages. Designed to entertain and delight tennis fans and guests, the suite perfectly embodies Emirates’ #FlyBetter promise.

Emirates’ long-standing partnership with the United States Tennis Association (USTA) dates back to 2012, marking the US Open as the airline’s first Grand Slam® tournament partnership. Over the years, Emirates has expanded its tennis sponsorship portfolio to include all four Grand Slam® tournaments, along with 60 other tournaments worldwide, in collaboration with the ATP. This includes prestigious events in the U.

S. such as the Western & Southern Open in Cincinnati, the Miami Open, and the BNP Paribas Open in Indian Wells. “Emirates has been a bedrock partner of the US Open for the last 12 years, and we’re thrilled to have our partnership continue in ways that will have a profound impact on the sport and in communities across the country,” said Kirsten Corio, Chief Commercial Officer, USTA .

“We’re incredibly proud to have been the first Grand Slam event Emirates partnered with back in 2012, and having seen our partnership grow to elevate the US Open experience in so many new and exciting ways over the years has been especially gratifying. Now being able to positively change the lives of youth across America, in partnership with the USTA Foundation and NJTL network, is an inspiring next step in our upward trajectory.” In their newly formed partnership, Emirates and Wimbledon are joining forces to champion social impact initiatives across the UK through the “Force for Good” program.

As part of this collaboration, a multimillion-pound fund will be established to support and promote projects that make a positive difference in society and uplift local communities. This partnership reflects a shared commitment to fostering meaningful change and enhancing the well-being of people across the UK..
