The 29-year-old singer-songwriter — whose romance with Emily Ratajkowski is heating up — recently sued the company, alleging they engaged in dubious practices to prevent him from gaining control over his music, according to TMZ . Despite his recent success with the hit country single A Bar Song (Tipsy) , Shaboozey is unable to fully benefit from his earnings due to Kreshendo Entertainment's refusal to return his publishing rights, per the outlet. The artist — born Collins Obinna Chibueze — said his contract with Kreshendo ended in 2019, allowing him to negotiate new deals.



Shaboozey tried to secure his publishing rights with Warner-Tamerlane, but as his single gained popularity, a dispute over profits arose with his former label. 'To date, Warner has refused to disclose to plaintiff the total amount of the unrecouped balance of prior advances it made,' the singer's lawyer Todd Bonder said in a statement, per Billboard .

'Warner’s conduct violates the administration agreement signed between the parties.' Bonder added: 'Kreshendo and [others] have instructed Warner not to provide plaintiff the total unrecouped balance related to advances made with respect to the compositions or has refused to authorize Warner to provide such information.' Shaboozey accused Kreshendo of not only interfering with his publishing rights but also releasing songs without his consent, even after he ended their contract in 2019.

DailyMail has reached out to reps for Shaboozey, Kreshendo and Warner-Tamerlane for comment. Meanwhile, Shaboozey was spotted leaving Emily's apartment in NYC on Thursday in the same clothes he wore on their movie date the night before. The pair also recently attended the star-studded premiere of Blink Twice together.

The model/actress - who initially fueled dating rumors with the viral music artist earlier this month - also mingled with star inside the Metrograph theater during the special event. Ratajkowski previously had divorce rings made from her engagement ring with ex-husband Sebastian Bear-McClard . She was married to the Uncut Gems producer, 37, from 2018 to 2022, and they share 3-year-old son Sylvester 'Sly' Apollo .
