MEHER CASTELINO 2025 will see the beginning of a new breed of designers who will enter the fashion industry. The Chitkara University’s Department of Fashion Design, Chandigarh, presented its 2024 graduation show ‘Emerge’ where 11 curated student collections were presented. The looks moved from streetwear to elevated workwear, as well as dramatic draped gowns and innovative construction.
The inspirations were varied, as architecture and mushrooms along with tornadoes pushed the student’s creativity to higher levels. There was colour, fabrics and constructions that created an interesting and innovative visual on the ramp. The 66 unique looks brought interesting construction concepts to the forefront.
Under the guidance of Dean, Fashion Design, Dr. Vaibbhavi Pruthviraj Ranavaade of Chitkara School, Fashion Design Department offers a four year B.Des Fashion Design programme that brings together the many aspects of design, textile and apparel technology.
Dr. Ranavaade has immense experience in guiding students in the art of fashion design since she is herself a very well-known fashion designer. Dr.
Ranavaade has been the driving force for many students throughout her career as a fashion educator..
