The film, which took place in 1975 in India, centres on the period when the nation was placed under emergency.

The trailer depicted the bond between a young Indira Gandhi and her late father, Prime Minister Jawaharlal Nehru when she started her political career. It also demonstrated how, throughout her long career, she overcame numerous obstacles, including wars and political unrest. The trailer also discussed how Indira Gandhi’s life developed like a Shakespearean tragedy.



Kangana Ranaut’s Emergency Trailer – WATCH ‘Emergency’, a big-budget portrayal of one of the most contentious moments in Indian democracy history, is supported by Zee Studios and Manikarnika Films. The protagonist of the tale is Indira Gandhi, the first female prime minister of India and one of the most iconic figures in history. It will open in theaters on September 6, 2024.
