Elon Musk has shared what he eats in the morning to 'power up' – but does it actually work? The tech mogul took to his social network, X (formerly Twitter ) where he revealed he enjoyed starting off his day with a protein-heavy combination of steak and eggs alongside a coffee, and plenty of others said they liked to enjoy similar foods as their first meal of the day. "Wow, steak & eggs with coffee in the morning really feels like a powerup!" he wrote. People were quick to agree, with one simply writing: "Agreed," before sharing a previous post they had written.

"The best breakfast on the planet is steak and eggs," it read. "Actually cooking some up myself right now," said another, sharing an image. A third replied: "Careful though, a high protein diet has been linked to massive gains and being awesome.

" Curious as to whether this unusual breakfast could really power you through the day, we asked Dr Hamdan Abdullah Hamed from Power Your Curls what the benefits and drawbacks of this meal are. He said: "This meal can provide a substantial amount of protein and fats, which might make someone feel energised and satiated "Steak and eggs are rich in protein, which is essential for muscle repair and growth, and they also contain important vitamins and minerals like iron, vitamin B12, and choline. Coffee, on the other hand, can boost alertness and focus due to its caffeine content.

However, it's important to consider the balance of nutrients in any meal. "While this breakfast can be beneficial for short-term energy, it may lack essential components like fibre, which is crucial for digestive health, and a variety of vitamins and minerals found in fruits and vegetables. Incorporating a wider range of food groups into breakfast can ensure a more balanced intake of nutrients, supporting overall health in the long term.
