The 83-year-old 'big, powerful divorce lawyer' had idolized the two-time Oscar winner and dreamed of becoming an actress as a child before eventually graduating from Brooklyn Law School and joining the California State Bar in 1969. 'She ended up representing Elizabeth Taylor, her childhood idol Elizabeth Taylor,' the 57-year-old Friends alum dished on Monday's Origins With Cush Jumbo podcast. 'Because she did such a good job for [her], Elizabeth gave her one of her own personal necklaces as a kind of bonus gift to my mom.

' David didn't name names but Arlene either handled Elizabeth's divorces from fifth/sixth husband actor Richard Burton (twice in 1974 and 1976), seventh husband Senator John Warner (1982), or eighth husband construction worker Larry Fortensky (1996). David Schwimmer (L, pictured in 2010) revealed the late Dame Elizabeth Taylor once gave his mother Arlene Coleman-Schwimmer (R) a special 'bonus gift' following one of her seven divorces The only man Taylor didn't divorce was her third husband - producer Mike Todd - who died, aged 50, when his private plane 'The Liz' crashed in 1958. The AIDS activist passed away herself, at age 79, from congestive heart failure in 2011.

Coleman-Schwimmer - who retired from the legal profession in 2001 - was described by LA Times Magazine in 1988 as being 'a street fighter with the tenacity of a pit bull.' 'You don't want to f*** with her,' Schwimmer noted. 'She is one of the most brilliant and can be quite intimidating.

..I mean, you don't mess with her.

On the other hand, she's like the warmest, most loving, generous, joyful, she's the glue of the whole family.' The three-time Emmy nominee continued: 'She never forgets anyone's birthday or occasion. She's that kind of person.

So she's a really warm, joyful, joyous person - lover of the arts, all the arts.' When asked if he shares those traits, David admitted: 'Yeah, I'm very much that way. People don't see that side of me.

' Schwimmer is father to 13-year-old daughter Cleo Buckman Schwimmer from his six-year marriage to English artist Zoë Buckman, which ended in 2017. The Little Death actor will next portray newly-divorced dad Anthony in the upcoming second season of the Disney+ rebooted anthology horror series, Goosebumps.
