Some don’t like to be reminded of Christmas unless it’s December, but there’s so much going on in Kingsport during November that for family planning purposes, we thought you could use a heads-up. The CSX Santa Train will return for its 82nd run Nov. 23, embarking from Shelby, Kentucky, with 14 stops on its route to Kingsport to spread holiday cheer while passing out gifts to families gathered along the route.
Santa Train partners for this year’s run include Appalachian Power, Food City, the Kingsport Chamber and Soles4Soles. The Kingsport Senior Center’s annual Old-Fashioned Christmas Fair will be the same weekend, with the two-day event featuring the works of more than 65 crafters from across the region, offering a variety of homemade crafts including baskets, greeting cards, woodworking items, hand-sewn and crocheted items, and much more.
