KUALA LUMPUR (Dec 22): Several East Malaysian innovators are among exhibitors taking part in the Malaysia-China Summit (MCS) 2024 held at the Malaysia International Trade and Exhibition Centre (MITEC) this week. Among those featured are Ramtiniwaiti Ramlee from Sarawak and Eriy Dusun from Sabah as the entrepreneurial icons under the National Informational Dissemination Centre (NADI) initiative.
NADI is a government initiative launched in 2013 by the Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission (MCMC) with the goal of bridging the digital divide between rural and urban communities by providing access to information and digital literacy programmes. NADI serves as a hub for disseminating information on various government programmes, activities, and efforts. It aims to enhance digital literacy among the public, especially in rural areas, and support online businesses.
As of now, there are 133 NADI centres operating in Sarawak. Under the “One-State Constituency-One-NADI” initiative, 23 new centres are set to be established by the end of this year, bringing the total to 156 centres in Sarawak. In Sabah, there are currently 115 NADI centres, with 14 new centres scheduled to be completed by the end of this year, bringing the total to 129 centres.
