Eamonn Holmes has hit back at trolls who have accused him of ‘trying to make his ex-wife Ruth Langsford jealous’ with his new relationship. Eamonn , 64, and Ruth announced that they were divorcing earlier this year, with Eamonn being snapped in Barcelona alongside his rumoured new girlfriend Katie Alexander After Eamonn shared a selfie with Hollywood actress Kate Beckinsale, fans wrongly assumed that Kate was Eamonn’s new girlfriend — with some people accusing him of trying to make Ruth jealous in his new relationship with Katie, 42. Some fans came to Eamonn’s defence, however — with one person leaving a comment that Eamonn liked saying ‘So many nasty comments! If you can’t say anything nice don’t say anything at all.
’ Another comment that Eamonn liked read ‘Everyone learn to be kind comments on here. Just leave him alone.’ Eamonn and Ruth were married for 14 years before announcing earlier this year that they are separating, with Eamonn being spotted in Barcelona alongside Ms Alexander, a relationship therapist.
It isn’t the first trip the pair have taken, as Eamonn took Ms Alexander to visit his home town of Belfast last month. He is currently on a summer break from his GB News breakfast show and set to return next week. During his time off, Holmes has also been spotted by locals in Carrickfergus, near Belfast , dining at the same budget restaurant Papa Browns for four days in a row.
The couple’s friends said they have been spending most weekends together at his London flat since his marriage ended. Ms Alexander, born Katie Robshaw, had two high profile relationships with older men — including when she was 19 and entered a relationship with coach driver Michael Devine, who was 40 years her senior. The relationship lasted five years, and they had a son named Ben, now 22 years old.
After splitting from Devine, Katie ran the Barca café in Dewsbury, which went out of business in 2013. By this point, she had married bar owner George Alexander and they had a daughter in 2010 and a son in 2011, then separated in 2022. Alexander said he felt like the ‘luckiest man alive’ when she agreed to be his wife.
As for Eamonn, he surprised people when he shared the selfie with A-List actor Kate Beckinsale earlier this week..
