The NI broadcaster, who hosts Breakfast with Eamonn and Isabel alongside Isabel Webster from Monday to Thursday, opted for a change of scenery as he embarked on a Mediterranean cruise with his girlfriend Katie Alexander, who is 42 years old. Holmes, 64, initially crossed paths with Katie in 2015 following an exchange sparked by her social media comment.
Following his separation from Ruth Langsford earlier this year, he grew closer with Katie as she supported him through the difficulties of the marriage breakdown, reports the Mirror . His GB News co-host presented Monday's edition of the news programme with guest co-host Dawn Neesom.
Eamonn has not revealed how long he will be away from his post but was away for a week on his last holiday. Meanwhile, a source recently claimed Eamonn's latest holiday is proof 'of his and Katie's closeness'. Speaking of their romantic holiday, a source told The Sun: "The cruise is just the latest proof of their closeness.
Katie has been telling pals that she and Eamonn are going to be for keeps, and now everyone is starting to believe her." They added: "Eamonn’s zest for her — the latest being this all-expenses-paid trip — has wowed Ruth and pals. He has found a new lease of life for sure.
Everyone is amazed." Last month, Eamonn was forced to reassure fans when they became concerned about his absence from his show. Regular viewers of the morning programme are used to seeing Eamonn and Isabel Webster during the week.
However, on 19 August, Nana Akua filled in for Eamonn while he took a well-earned break. Eamonn's absence led to speculation about his replacement, which he quickly quashed. Eamonn took to X, formerly known as Twitter, to clear up any confusion among his followers.
He joked that people were "unfamiliar with the concept of Summer Holidays." He added: "See u next week!" A fan commented: "What you are allowed a holiday? Noticed Isabelle was missing a while back too how is that allowed?" Another also said: "Strange when Isabella had her holidays they weren’t worried. Enjoy your holiday!"
