1 2 Prayagraj : Deputy CM Keshav Prasad Maurya on Wednesday launched the ‘ cleanliness campaign ' (Swachhta Abhiyan) at Civil Lines Lord Hanuman Temple campus on the occasion of the birth anniversaries of Mahatma Gandhi and former PM Lal Bahadur Shastri. On the occasion, Maurya said that the Swachhta Abhiyan , which began 10 years ago by PM Narendra Modi, has changed the lives of millions of people across the country. As a result, the country has received global appreciation.

He further called on people to adopt the values of life and principles told by Mahatma Gandhi and Lal Bahadur Shastri, ensure participation in service of the nation, and work for Swachh Bharat & Swachh Prayagraj together. Tributes were paid by garlanding statue of Deendayal Upadhyay and Lal Bahadur Shastri located at Medical Chauraha. BJP spokesperson Rajesh Kesarwani said that under the Swachhata Abhiyan of BJP, a cleanliness campaign was carried out at the statue sites of great men.



This mainly included Mahatma Gandhi's statue at Balsan Crossing, Pandit Deendayal Upadhyay's statue, Maharishi Bhardwaj's statue, Lal Bahadur Shastri's statue at Medical Crossing, Goswami Tulsidas's statue at Civil Lines, Subhash Chandra Bose's statue, Swami Vivekananda's statue and Baba Bhimrao Ambedkar's statue (near High Court)..
