Tuesday, August 27, 2024 Dubai’s Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) is preparing to mark the 15th anniversary of the Dubai Metro with a series of exciting events and initiatives. Under the theme ‘15 Years on Track,’ the celebration aims to captivate both residents and visitors. The RTA has garnered support from prominent sponsors, with Keolis-MHI serving as the Strategic Partner.

Additionally, LEGO Middle East, LEGOLAND Dubai, IGLOO, Al Jaber Gallery, and Emirates Post have joined as Campaign Partners, ensuring a memorable and engaging celebration for all. In a recent reflection on aviation history, Arabian Business spotlighted the remarkable journey of Emirates Airline. The airline was established in 1985, driven by the visionary leadership of Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum.

Launched by Sir Maurice Flanagan in just five months with a modest $10 million seed fund, Emirates has since redefined global aviation with its commitment to excellence, encapsulated in the simple yet powerful mantra: “look good, be good, and make money.” On the real estate front, Nakheel, part of Dubai Holding Real Estate, has made headlines by awarding a major contract worth AED 810 million (approximately $221 million) to Jan De Nul Dredging LTD. This Belgian company will undertake significant marine work on Palm Jebel Ali, including dredging, land reclamation, beach profiling, and sand placement.

This project is a key component of Dubai’s ever-expanding real estate landscape. Meanwhile, Abu Dhabi is in the midst of a transformative era, investing billions into new construction projects aimed at boosting tourism, diversifying the economy, and attracting global talent. Among the standout projects are the Guggenheim Museum, set to be 12 times larger than its New York counterpart, and the Zayed National Museum, both part of a $10 billion initiative designed to elevate the city’s cultural profile.

In Saudi Arabia, Riyadh Municipality has embarked on the first phase of the Riyadh Parking project, a significant effort to enhance urban living by increasing organized parking spaces. This initial phase includes the creation and management of over 24,000 street parking spots and the administration of more than 140,000 parking spaces in residential neighborhoods. The project aims to reduce illegal parking and improve traffic flow, contributing to a better quality of life for the city’s residents.
