Dubai Maritime City (DMC) has significantly expanded its ship handling capabilities, doubling its annual capacity to 1,000 vessels. The increased capacity aligns with Dubai’s strategic goals of economic growth and becoming a leading global maritime hub. The expansion is driven by major infrastructure upgrades, including the retrofitting of ship lifts, the introduction of new ship cradles, and the installation of state-of-the-art substations and shore power supplies.

These enhancements have equipped DMC with upgraded 6,000-tonne and 3,000-tonne ship lifts, enabling it to handle more complex shipbuilding and repair projects. Dubai Maritime City aims to stimulate growth with upgrades DMC’s 249-hectare waterfront platform offers world-class services for luxury yachts and commercial shipbuilding and repair companies. To further enhance its infrastructure, DMC has signed agreements for marine structure rehabilitation and maintenance management.



These initiatives aim to extend the lifespan of existing structures and improve operational efficiency. The increased capacity is expected to attract more international shipbuilding and repair companies and stimulate growth..
