Monday, September 9, 2024 Dubai has emerged as a top winner at the fifth annual World MICE Awards, which held its prestigious black-tie ceremony in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam. The city, known as the commercial capital of the UAE, secured the coveted title of World’s Best MICE Destination, along with the honor of being named the Middle East’s Best MICE Destination. This recognition highlights Dubai’s world-class infrastructure and advanced event facilities, showcasing the city’s readiness to host major international events.

Venues like the Dubai World Trade Centre (DWTC) and Expo City Dubai are renowned for hosting global conferences, exhibitions, and corporate meetings, all equipped with state-of-the-art technology to cater to diverse event requirements. These facilities ensure seamless operations for both event organizers and attendees. Dubai’s luxury hotels, many of which offer their own meeting spaces, further enhance the city’s appeal for business travelers, providing a highly convenient environment for work and accommodation.



Established in 1979, the DWTC is a cornerstone of Dubai’s business and events sector, offering over 1.3 million square feet of flexible event space in the heart of the city along Sheikh Zayed Road. Hosting over 500 events annually, including global trade shows such as Arabian Travel Market and GITEX Technology Week, the venue’s cutting-edge technology and proximity to major hotels and Dubai International Airport make it an ideal destination for international events.

Another significant accolade from the event went to the Museum of the Future, which won both World’s Best MICE Event Venue and Middle East’s Best MICE Event Venue. This futuristic landmark, opened in 2022, is an architectural marvel with its unique torus-shaped design and Arabic calligraphy. The museum serves as a hub for innovation, exploring topics like AI, space exploration, and sustainability through interactive exhibits.

Dubai’s strategic location as a global hub, positioned between Europe, Asia, and Africa, makes it easily accessible to international markets. With Dubai International Airport offering direct flights to over 260 destinations, combined with an efficient local transport system, delegates experience smooth travel logistics. In the hospitality sector, Atlantis, The Royal, located on Palm Jumeirah, claimed three prestigious awards, including World’s Best Incentive Hotel.

This ultra-luxurious resort, which opened in 2023, features 795 opulent rooms and suites with stunning views of the Arabian Gulf, world-class dining by celebrity chefs, and an array of amenities such as private infinity pools and a wellness center. Jumeirah Mina A’Salam at Madinat Jumeirah also took home the award for Dubai’s Best MICE Hotel, while Orient Travel was named Dubai’s Best MICE Organiser. The World MICE Awards come at a time of positive growth for Dubai, with the emirate welcoming 5.

18 million international visitors in the first quarter of 2024—an 11% increase from the same period in 2023. This surge builds on Dubai’s record-breaking year in 2023, when the city saw 17.15 million visitors.
