Thursday, September 19, 2024 Dubai and Emaar Hospitality Group have formed a game-changing partnership, set to revolutionize global hospitality with innovative solutions and unmatched guest experiences. The Dubai Department of Economy and Tourism (DET) and Emaar Hospitality Group have entered a strategic Memorandum of Understanding (MoU), reinforcing Dubai’s position as a global leader in hospitality and guest services. This partnership exemplifies DET’s dedication to strengthening ties with both local and international hotel groups, fostering innovation and growth across the tourism sector.

By cultivating strong public-private partnerships, the MoU is instrumental in delivering unparalleled visitor experiences, which are key to attracting tourists from across the globe. This agreement builds on the longstanding collaboration between DET and Emaar Hospitality Group, focusing on enhancing marketing efforts, creating new tourism experiences, and investing in training and capacity building. The MoU was signed at DET’s headquarters by His Excellency Issam Kazim, CEO of the Dubai Corporation for Tourism and Commerce Marketing (DCTCM), and Mark Kirby, Head of Emaar Hospitality Group.



By expanding their joint initiatives, DET and Emaar Hospitality Group aim to further bolster Dubai’s tourism growth in line with the ambitious Dubai Economic Agenda D33. This partnership will continue to drive visitor numbers and cement Dubai’s status as a premier global destination for business and leisure. Emaar Hospitality Group, with its 12,600 hotel keys worldwide, manages seven distinctive brands including Address Hotels + Resorts, Vida Hotels & Resorts, and Armani Hotels & Resorts.

In Dubai, their renowned leisure offerings include award-winning venues such as the Arabian Ranches Golf Club, Dubai Marina Yacht Club, and the Dubai Polo & Equestrian Club. Emaar has also launched Veo gyms, dedicated to well-being, and features acclaimed dining destinations such as At.mosphere and Thiptara, elevating Dubai’s food scene.

A key focus of the MoU is the collaborative marketing and promotional efforts. DET and Emaar Hospitality Group will jointly develop and implement innovative campaigns to showcase Dubai’s unique attractions and hospitality experiences. Leveraging Emaar’s vast expertise in the hospitality industry, this initiative aims to reach a broader global audience and position Dubai as a must-visit destination.

In addition to marketing, the partnership will focus on curating new tourism products and experiences that highlight Dubai’s diverse cultural heritage and luxury offerings. This collaboration will result in unique experiences that cater to the evolving tastes of international travelers. Training and capacity building form a critical pillar of the MoU.

DET will spearhead specialized training programs, workshops, and certifications for Emaar Hospitality Group employees, ensuring they remain at the forefront of industry trends and best practices. By prioritizing skill development, the partnership aims to elevate service standards and maintain Dubai’s competitive edge in global hospitality. Dubai continues to set new records in the tourism industry, attracting millions of visitors and driving economic growth.

Following a milestone year in 2023 with 17.15 million international overnight visitors, Dubai saw 10.62 million international overnight tourists from January to July 2024, an 8% increase over the same period in 2023.

The emirate’s hospitality sector has also thrived, with occupancy rates at 77.1%, among the highest globally. By the end of July 2024, Dubai had 151,417 hotel rooms across 825 establishments, demonstrating robust growth compared to the previous year.
