A DRIVER was forced to pay a $2,000 repair bill on his BMW after running over metal prongs sticking out on the shoulder on a highway. Brian Briggs described how he immediately felt the impact on his vehicle when he struck the metal prongs on Interstate 285 in Atlanta in early September. "It was like immediate, pop, pop.
I heard and felt it," Briggs told ABC affiliate WSB-TV . Briggs recalled being lost and trying to look at his GPS when he pulled onto the shoulder and accidentally struck the prongs. "I'm at disgust at why they would leave something like this in the roadway," he added.
Pictures of Briggs' BMW showed the driver's side front and rear tires completely destroyed. READ MORE ON DRIVING LAWS The rim of his luxury vehicle also sustained heavy damage. The frustrated driver said the incident cost him over $2,000 in damages.
"When I got out and looked, I was really devastated by what I saw," Briggs told the outlet. Most frustratingly of all for Briggs, he said that when he tried to get compensated for the damage, a GDOT representative claimed that they don't officer claims.
