Kenmare Shamrocks 0-13 Templenoe 0-13 This was a winner-take-all game between fierce local rivals Kenmare Shamrocks and Templenoe and it did not disappoint as they slugged it out in Fr Breen Park Kenmare with neither side being able to claim bragging rights. The upshot of this thrilling draw is that Kenmare Shamrocks will go through to the semi-finals to face Dingle away while Rathmore will be at home to Dr Crokes next weekend. Templenoe bow out with honour and can now look forward to the Kerry SFC draw on Monday night.

Templenoe appeared to adapt to the swirling wind better than the hosts and it was Gavin Crowley who opened the scoring and then Killian Spillane fired over a second point. But it was Seanie O’Shea, who was the centre of attention all game who got Kenmare Shamrocks on the board from a well taken mark. Templenoe then enjoyed a purple patch adding three points without reply from an Aidan Crowley 45, another from a Killian Spillane free and then a beauty from Brian Crowley and Templenoe were 0-5 to 0-1 in front by the 16th minute.

It was the 22nd minute before Seanie O’Shea got Kenmare’s second point and then the home side reeled off three points on the trot, from Kevin O’Sullivan, and two from Seanie O’Shea to ensure that sides retired 0-5 apiece at the interval. Two early Killian Spillane second half frees gave Templenoe a great start but Kevin O’Sullivan kept Kenmare in touch. Spillane made it 0-9 to 0-6 with a superb effort from play and Kenmare had a fight on their hands.

David Hallissey responded for Kenmare but substitute Patrick Clifford restored Templenoe’s three-point advantage at the end of the third quarter and the home side needed to respond. But Kenmare rose to the challenge, Dara O'Shea notching a fine score and Tommy ‘Atlantic’ O'Sullivan gathering from Dara Crowley to fire over. Just a point in it now, but Colin Crowley doubled the gap and gave Templenoe a little bit of breathing space.

Sean O'Shea won a free and converted. Tom Murnane was on the end of a sweeping team move to fist over the equaliser. John Rice nudged Templenoe back in front with a superb score, but Sean O'Shea set up Murnane for his second point.

The game was into the dying minutes now and David Ciuciu grabbed a vital score for Kenmare. In the dying seconds Killian Spillane did kick one last defiant point before the final whistle, but that would be Templenoe's final act in this year's club championship and its Kenmare Shamrocks who will travel to Dingle on Saturday evening at 6pm in the first semi-final while Rathmore will entertain Dr Crokes on Sunday afternoon at 4pm.
