Dre has been accused of making a series of threats to his ex-marriage counselor in a newly-filed $10 million lawsuit. The suit was filed by Dr. Charles Sophy, a psychiatrist who said he counseled the Compton, California native, 59, and his ex-wife Nicole Young , 54, during their marriage and as a mediator following their split, TMZ reported Wednesday after reviewing legal documents in the case.
Sophy said in court docs he has been intimated by the rapper's threats, and has been donning a bulletproof vest as a precautionary measure as a result. Sophy told the court that in February of 2023 - one year and two months after the acrimonious divorce had been finalized in December of 2021 - Dr. Dre began inundating him with 'abusive and threatening text messages,' according to TMZ.
Sophy said in legal docs that the Beats Electronics founder had falsely accused him of orchestrating a smear campaign against him amid the split with Young, the outlet reported. Dr. Dre, 59, has been accused of his ex-marriage counselor in a newly-filed lawsuit.
