Doris Denzine, 94 of Valparaiso, IN, went to her heavenly home on Friday, October 25, 2024. She was born in Detroit, MI on March 21, 1930, to the late Daniel and Martha (Reckling) Eckhardt. Married to Russell Denzine at Epiphany Lutheran Church on November 27, 1954.
Together they had three wonderful children: David, Matthew, and Dee Dee. She is survived by son, Matthew; daughter, Dee Dee; daughter in-law, Karen; grandsons: Jason (Dr. Christina), Dan (Dr.
Kathryn), James, Tyler (fiancee, Jessica Nam), Jordan; and great granddaughter, Harper. She was preceded in death by her husband of 62 years, Russell; brothers, Daniel and Ted; sisters, Marj and Jean; son, David; and daughter inlaw, Susan. Her Savior, Jesus Christ, was always with her and guided her into many enjoyable adventures with her loving family.
She enjoyed seeing the beautiful creation with which God has blessed us. Doris was active in the Lutheran Church and community volunteering at Special Olympics and Opportunity Enterprise functions and heading a therapeutic horse-riding group — now known as EEU for many years. Doris and Russ brought their family together for hundreds of birthdays, holidays and special occasions — as well as many memorable weeks on the Outer banks of North Carolina.
She will be greatly missed by her family and friends. A visitation will be held on Friday, November 1, 2024, from 10:00 a.m.
to 11:00 a.m. at Heritage Lutheran Church, 308 Washington Street, Valparaiso, with a funeral.
