Dorchester produced their best performance of the season so far to beat Salisbury for the first time for 20 years, writes Andy Haworth. Built on forward domination and a pacey back division, the hosts took an early lead with a Callum King penalty. Salisbury hit back with a converted try from a driving lineout.
King added a second penalty to close the gap before the visitors kicked a penalty of their own. Going into the second quarter Dorchester took control, fly half Callum King going over twice and adding both conversions. Half time arrived with Dorchester leading 20 points to 10.
The second half continued in similar fashion with Dorchester winning the battle up front, consistently pushing their opponents back at the set piece. Second row Marcus Seaton was next to get his name on the scoresheet with his first try for the club. Kieran Fry added the fourth, bonus point try as the game entered the final quarter.
Winger Finley Greenslade was another to score his first try for the first XV, again converted by King. Dorchester bought on their replacements and as they settled Salisbury crossed for a couple of tries and a conversion. Dorchester however had the last word.
