Listen to Story Former US President Donald Trump has made some big claims about Google. In a recent interview with Fox News, Trump issued a stark warning to Google, suggesting that the tech giant may face a shutdown if it does not act more responsibly. Trump's remarks come amid ongoing scrutiny of major tech companies and their influence on politics and public opinion.

Trump began his comments by recounting a conversation with Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg. "Mark Zuckerberg called me a few times," Trump said. "He called me after the event and said it was really amazing, very brave.

He actually announced he's not going to support a Democrat because he respected what I did that day. To me, it was a normal response." According to Trump, Zuckerberg also apologized for past actions, admitting mistakes and committing to correct them.

"He said they made a mistake, etc. etc., correcting the mistake," Trump noted.

However, Trump pointed out that no similar outreach came from Google. He highlighted the widespread influence of media and technology, emphasizing the importance of platforms like Fox News and the role of digital media in shaping public perception. "Your show, you see it on Fox, but where you really see it is all over the place," Trump said.

"Those little beautiful cellphones all over the place. You have a product. You have a great product, you have a great brand.

" Turning his attention to Google, Trump was critical of the company's actions. "Google has been very bad, they’ve been very irresponsible," he asserted. Trump expressed a belief that Congress might take severe actions against Google if it does not change its ways.

"I have a feeling Google is going to be close to shut down because I don’t think Congress is going to take it, I really don’t think so. Google has to be careful." Trump's comments come at a time when tech companies are under increased pressure from both lawmakers and the public to address issues such as misinformation, data privacy, and political bias.

While it remains to be seen what specific actions, if any, will be taken against Google, Trump's remarks underscore the ongoing tension between tech giants and political figures. Trump's warning to Google reflects broader concerns about the power and responsibility of major tech companies. His conversation with Zuckerberg highlights a willingness among some tech leaders to acknowledge and correct mistakes, but the absence of a similar response from Google suggests a continuing divide.

Whether or not Congress will act on Trump's prediction remains uncertain, but the pressure on tech companies to navigate these challenges responsibly is undoubtedly growing..
