DONALD Trump appeared to crack a golf joke – just days after the ex-president survived an apparent assassination attempt at his Florida golf course. The bombastic tycoon quipped the sport was a dangerous game during an appearance on the Fox News show Gutfeld! which aired on Wednesday night. Comic Greg Gutfeld asked Trump about his golf game and the ex-Apprentice host replied he hadn’t been thinking about it.
“I always said golf is a very dangerous game,” he added. Trump’s response sparked laughter on the panel, which also featured Fox News stars Kat Timpf , Tyrus, and Emily Compagno. The ex-president recalled Sunday’s apparent assassination attempt and hailed the response of the Secret Service.

Police later confirmed that no such device had been discovered but said one arrest had been made. Cops said that a person had falsely reported explosives. Trump’s rally in Long Island was held just days after shots were heard in the vicinity of his golf course.
Routh faces up to 20 years behind bars after being hit with two firearm charges. He was charged with possession of a firearm by a convicted felon and carrying a firearm with an obliterated serial number. The first charge carries a penalty of up to 15 years behind bars.
Routh could be hit with a five-year sentence if he’s convicted of the second charge. Palm Beach cops released his mugshot where Routh had a chilling smirk on his face. The picture was taken three days after the apparent assassination attempt on the former president.
It emerged that Routh was lying in wait for around 12 hours as he scoped out the golf course, according to police. He was within 500 yards of the president as he hid in the bushes. Eagle-eyed Secret Service agents spotted a rifle and opened fire.
Routh fled the scene before being later arrested as cops executed a traffic stop. Cops said that a weapon, two backpacks, and a GoPro camera were left at the scene before Routh was arrested. I always said golf is a very dangerous game It was thought that Routh was armed with an AK-47-style rifle but it turned out that the weapon was an SKS-style caliber gun that had a scope.
SKS rifles were made in the 1940s and it’s a semi-automatic weapon. Police revealed the serial number on the firearm was “obliterated” and couldn’t be read by the naked eye. The gun is at a lab and is being examined by forensics.
Scott Sweetow, a firearms expert, revealed that SKS-type weapons are not really produced in the US, per ABC News. He said the weapons are imported and are commonly made in Russia and China. Hours after the security scare at Trump’s golf course, details around Routh’s political affiliations were uncovered.
Routh is a registered Democrat but voted for Trump in 2016 before abandoning the tycoon. Pictures of his Hawaii home showed a Biden-Harris bumper sticker plastered on the back of a truck. And, Routh is a pro-Ukrainian activist and it’s since emerged he bought a bulletproof vest on a trip to the country.
He even posed for pictures and gave media interviews as he rallied behind Kyiv’s war effort. But Routh was reportedly rejected from fighting in the Ukrainian army because he was full of s**t, according to officials. Earlier this week, Trump recalled the moment he heard shots.
