Dolly Parton and Miley Cyrus , long known as goddaughter and godmother, have learned they are actually blood relatives. Parton, who recently announced a new makeup line , was informed of the connection during an interview with Access Hollywood on Tuesday. Genealogy company Ancestry had traced their lineage, revealing the two are seventh cousins once removed.

Their common ancestor is John Brickey, born in 1740 in Virginia." The company further explained that Brickey is Parton's sixth great-grandfather and Cyrus's seventh great-grandfather. Parton expressed little surprise at the discovery: "I'm sure she'll get a kick out of that, but it doesn't surprise me because she does feel like family.
