In short, you have no time for fluff. Fluff is a waste of time! Fluff is for simpletons, and you are not a simpleton! 2024 was a complex year, to be sure, in many ways. Socially, politically and economically.
It is easy to assume that complex issues require complex solutions. Fortunately, this is not usually the case. We have the unique ability to overcomplicate things.
In reality, the best solutions to complex problems are typically the simplest. Sometimes simple requires an element many of you like to avoid: fluff. It may be time in 2025 to embrace some good, old-fashioned fluff.
Optimism, positivity, happiness. These traits have weirdly come to signify naiveté, if not stupidity. They’re like Pollyanna, or at least the perception of Pollyanna.
Pollyanna was the character in the 1913 children’s book by Eleanor Porter, “Pollyanna.” To call someone Pollyanna today is considered an insult, someone who is simple, naïve, even stupid. Well, the character in Pollyanna was not naïve or stupid.
She simply made an effort to find the good in any situation through a trick she called “the glad game.” Pollyanna was a clever little girl who cried when she was hurt or disappointed. She was not clueless to pain.
She simply tried to maintain a positive attitude regardless of the situati.
