Article content Even though the Dodge Charger’s V8 thunder is fading into the distance , the Hemi hasn’t rumbled its last. Far from it, as the automaker is currently celebrating the 20th anniversary of the Hemi-powered Durango with a couple of special edition vehicles that are about as in-your-face a V8 as you can get. First up is the Silver Bullet, a limited-production run based on the 2025 Durango SRT Hellcat.

Very much a product of Dodge’s Hellcat All The Things period, the Silver Bullet gets the same supercharged 6.2L V8, eight-speed automatic transmission, and all-wheel-drive as the regular Durango Hellcat. With 710 hp and 640 lb-ft of torque, it’s a monster of a truck, capable of blitzing down a drag strip, or trailering a vintage Hemi Barracuda home from that same drag strip.

Learn more about the cars The Silver Bullet is, as you’d expect, finished in silver exterior paint, with a satin-black hood. Red Brembo six-piston brake calipers peek out from behind dark-finished 20-inch wheels, and the exhaust tips are blacked out as well. Inside is a bit more colourful, with red Nappa leather seats and contrast stitching.

There are carbon-fibre accents, a suede headliner, and, being a top-of-the-range model, all manner of premium features standard, like a 19-speaker audio system. The price for all this power and luxury is fairly eye-watering, at an MSRP of CDN$155,130 after fees. Joining this supercharged version is the Durango R/T 20th Anniversary Edition, with its still-potent 360-hp 5.

7L V8. Available in four shades – black, white, and two greys – the 20th Anniversary Durango comes in two grades, both of them with cosmetic upgrades like bronze-finished 20-inch wheels and black and bronze exterior graphics and badging. Prices for the very well-equipped standard model is CDN$83,580, and stepping up to the higher version with its upgraded stereo and driver assist package will set you back an additional $4,000.

With the Charger now powered by Dodge’s twin-turbocharged inline-six, it’s not clear how much longer the full-fat V8-powered Durango is going to be around. If you’ve been looking for an SUV with the heart of a muscle car, you might not want to wait around too much longer.
