Disneyland is set to bring the magical world of Pandora to California with a new themed land based on Avatar : The Way of Water . This announcement was made by Josh D’Amaro, Chairman of Disney Experiences, during the D23 Horizons: Disney Experiences Showcase on Saturday. The new attraction at Disneyland in Anaheim will be inspired by James Cameron ’s 2022 film Avatar: The Way of Water , as well as future films in the Avatar series.

This new land will offer guests a chance to explore the breathtaking landscapes and exciting adventures of Pandora, a stark contrast to the existing Pandora-themed area at Disney World’s Animal Kingdom in Orlando, Florida, which is based on the original 2009 Avatar movie. Disney Imagineer Ali Rubin shared concept art for the upcoming attraction, which promises an immersive experience . Visitors will embark on an adventurous journey through Pandora, discovering its majestic natural wonders and the beauty and dangers that come with them.



The new land aims to capture the excitement and wonder of the Avatar universe, including exploring the wide-open seas of Pandora. This announcement follows James Cameron’s reveal of the title for the third Avatar movie, Avatar: Fire and Ash , at the D23 event. Cameron, along with stars Sam Worthington and Zoe Saldaña, introduced new concept art showcasing the fire Na’vi people, hinting at new cultures and settings in the upcoming film.
