A company is about to “find out” after a disabled employee was denied remote work, even though it was promised at the time of their hiring. The worker announced that they are taking the “official route”, which would unleash hell upon the employer for going back on the accommodation guarantee. “My job has always accommodated me to work remotely for in-office days when I'm injured,” they explained a post on the subreddit Antiwork.

“It's worked great for 2 years until management started being difficult bc of appearance.” The employee, who said they have multiple disabilities, making them prone to dislocation, recently suffered involving their shoulder. However, instead of being offered work from home for a job that can be handled entirely on a computer, with people attending Zoom meetings in-person, the person with disability said they were asked to come in.



They have decided to take the system on in a multi-front battle. “I called my union rep and they are ready to fight for me bc of pushback. I called my doctors and they are ready to fight for me.

I'm calling my vocational rehab counselor as well. Also just completed a program for people with disabilities so I'm contacting them too,” the post read. ‘Turns out that in my state I can get a full days pay for 3 months out of the year for every 1 hour of my sick leave and I have over 100 hours,” the employee added.
