Donald Trump is famously teetotal – so what is his beverage of choice? For anyone who has kept up with the polarising president, they’ll know that he does have one addiction: Diet Coke . So much so that he's had a ‘Diet Coke’ button installed in the Oval Office . Technically, it’s not the first time that this has happened.

In 2017, he made headlines when he first installed a red button in the Oval Office that would have an aide fetch him a Diet Coke. Now, it's been confirmed that he had it reinstalled on January 1st , just in time for his second term debut. The reintroduction of the Diet Coke button was part of this redesign, reports the Mirror US .



The publication recalls a quote Trump gave to reporters in 2017, at the start of his first presidency. He had jokingly said: "Everyone does get a little nervous when I press that button." Interestingly, though, Trump’s fixation on the drink has sparked a wider discussion over diet coke as a status symbol.
