The Diamond Jubilee High School (DJHS), operating under the flagship of the Aga Khan Education Service (AKES), marked its 75th anniversary with a two-day celebration starting December 21, themed, ‘A Journey Through Time, Celebrating 75 Years of Excellence.’ The first day saw alumni return to their alma mater and share stories of the way the school shaped their lives. Among them were bureaucrats, advocates, filmmakers, architects, doctors, engineers and entrepreneurs.

At the event were Aga Khan Education Service (India) chairman Shiraz Vastani, CEO Farhad Merchant and directors Noordin Dhamani, Monisha Tejani and Rishad Jivani. Those who spoke at the event highlighted the school’s journey and alumni’s pivotal role in fostering growth. Dhamani expressed gratitude to the alumni for their continued connection with the school.



The celebrations also featured cultural performances, tracing the school’s journey from 1949 to 2024. Speaking at the event, AP former principal secretary Jayaprakash Narayana advocated governance and education reforms. India badminton coach S.

M. Arif, a Padma Shri and Dronacharya awardee and DJHS alumnus, was the guest of honour. DJHS Principal Sujatha Gade thanked the attendees for contributing to the event’s success.
